The signs were looking good for some fantastic racing action in what has to be one of our favourite venues for a cycle race, (we are biased though!). The sun shone and the cobbles of Kelham Island baked. For 2018 we ran a junior race as part of the round 1 schedule also, the course provided an exciting alternative to some of the more traditional courses and races our field were used too.
It was also fantastic to speak to some of the riders that were trying their first race with us. For 2018 we incorporated more overtaking opportunities, and also Kelham Island Museum opened an area to allow spectators to access the back yard area.
The standard of the junior racing was pretty spectacular and there was some real determination and gritty resolve on the faces of the young riders as they rode the course. The adult races were equally as hard fought

We will be visiting Park Hill Flats for the second race in the series on July 28th, Last years race continued with a friendly and chilled vibe. It was great to see families racing at this years KICX and we are hoping to get more families signed up to race across the categories.
