We are pleased to be able to help support local independent food vendors at PHCX. Come and enjoy the racing and also enjoy a fresh artisan Pizza from Sunshine Pizza Oven washed down with a drink from Sheffield’s newest mobile bar, Wet thi Whistle.

Wet thi’ Whistle – Small bar, big smiles

We saw Jess and Rob and the Wet thi Whistle trailer at this years Cliffhanger festival in Sheffield. As soon as we saw this compact bar we were intrigued, after a quick chat and introduction we knew we had to ask them to join us for PHCX. We are pleased to welcome the team as PHCX refreshment providers. So if it’s a celebratory winners drink or just something to wet thi’ whistle then drop by for one of their fine Yorkshire sourced beverages. Co owner Jess explains a bit more about this small and friendly bar.

” Our bar is a Yorkshire themed mobile trailer bar called ‘Wet thi Whistle. Myself and my brother set up our business earlier this year after noticing the rise of craft ales and gins our county had to offer. We believe that both local breweries and independent events such as Sheffield Urban CX need support, it’s something we hope we can offer and have fun with in the process!”

Sunshine Pizza Oven – Fueling your ride

Living in #TheOutdoorCity of Sheffield we are lucky to have the Peak District on our doorstep. One ride last summer took us through the green corridor starting at Endcliffe Park and meandering out through the Porter valley away from the hustle and bustle of Sheffield, up to Redmires and down the brilliant Stanage descent over grippy gristone slabs and through Stanage palntation. Having missed breakfast (terrible i know!) I thought I was imagining the amazing smell of Pizza that wafted through the trees during the last descent. To my joy and surprise there in all its small but perfectly formed glory was the Sunshine Pizza Oven, as it was only me who had missed breakfast I really had to get fueled up again! I could sense the rest of the group wanting to get going to get the climb back up to the top done. I ordered the classic margarita from Sunshine Pizza Oven, Sarah and Dan promptly went to work and 5 mins later tasty Pizza refueling was underway. Needless to say i was waiting at the top of the climb for the rest of the group.

Sunshine Pizza Oven is run by Sarah and Dan they are based in Bamford in the Peak District. Keen to keep it local all ingredients used are locally sourced and all the dough is made from organic flour, with Gluten Free options too. Our toppings change according to seasonal availability and include locally sourced and Italian smoked and cured meats, fresh vegetables roasted in the wood-fired oven, and home-made herb-infused oils.
